Putting it at the bottom of page may not generate more clicks as most people usually do not go as far as the bottom  of the post. It is especially useful where you want to place two sets of ad side by side as they fit perfectly well. This is to me the second most clicked ad units if placed just below post title. I have not yet tested the other placement to be able to comment much.

Finally on the skyscrapers most analysts believe that the best post position for the skyscrapers is the right hand edge of the screen. .Most people are right handed and they usually hold their mouse in the right hand start scrolling from the right of the screen. Therefore placing the ads on the right side of the page creates less distance between the right hand and the screen and a feeling of control on the part of the visitor. In summary I would therefore state that to have more clicks you have to understand the psychology and experiences of your visitors. Play around with various ads units and various placement until you find the most convenient ad units and placement for your site.
